• Maintain a normal weight.

• Protect the bunion with a moleskin or gel-filled pad, which you can buy at a drugstore.
• Use shoe inserts to help position the foot correctly. These can be over-the-counter arch supports or prescription orthodontic devices.


• Take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs ,( with doctors consultations)
• Use warm soaks, ice packs, Whirlpool ( therapeutic bath) and massage.
• Choose shoes carefully. They should have a wide toe box — no pointy toes — and there should be space between the tip of your longest toe and the end of the shoe.
• Your shoes should conform to the shape of your feet without squeezing or pressing any part of your foot.
